What is THC-A?

Legal THC-A = THC

Here's why:

How does THC-A achieve its effects? (THC-A vs. THC)

You might be wondering what purpose THC-A serves if it's not naturally psychoactive. The "magic" happens when THC-A is heated—for example, when smoking or vaping. High temperatures convert THC-A into delta-9 THC, the psychoactive substance that produces the familiar euphoric "high."

And that's no news—it's simple: All marijuana flowers work according to the same principle. In their raw state, they typically contain only 2–5% Delta-9 THC, while the majority of the "THC" they contain is in the form of THC-A. Only after heating does THC-A convert to classic THC, and the psychoactive effect sets in. And that's exactly what we do: We breed specially modified strains with high THC-A and low THC content, so you get the best of the plant while still getting a legal product.

What is THC-A?

THC-A, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is the natural form of THC found in hemp. Unlike traditional THC (Delta-9 THC), THC-A is not considered a controlled substance and is therefore legal in Germany and Austria, for example.

Why is THC-A legal?

Simply put, the law focuses exclusively on the Delta-9 THC content. If the Delta-9 THC content is below the legal limit (usually up to 0.2–0.3%), the product meets the legal requirements. Our hemp is therefore bred to have a high THC-A content and a very low Delta-9 THC content, thus complying with all legal requirements. This means you can enjoy real hemp flowers without having to worry about breaking the law.
